Wednesday Morning Prana-Power Yoga 27th September 2023
30 minute grounded steady practice today Yogis. Two blocks would be handy but are not 'necessary' & ditto re. a blanket. Starting in Balasana with some variations for releasing our chest & shoulders & then moving through to some strengthening & lengthening. Do what you can. Stay well, stay safe & dry today if you're in the Orange Warning territories!
Tuesday Evening Gentle Yoga 26th September 2023
50 minute cosy slow practice Yogis. Starting off seated & engaging in our Box Breathing to let the mind slow down & let go of mental busyness & tension. Moving on through some mindful slow asana such as Cat-Cow, Moving Balasana (Child's Pose), Puppy Pose, Thread the Needle, a bolster-supported Anjaneyasana (Low Lunge), Knee to Chest Twist & more. Ending in your Savasana of choice.
Saturday Mellow Yoga Flow 23rd September 2023
Just over an hour's practice today Yogis. Props: Use a belt/strap. We create lots of space & release tension in the chest, shoulders, & back. Also a nice one to create room to breathe! Also a good practice for our focus - both balancing (external drishti if you will) & also our internal drishti. We hold some postures a little too so we cultivate patience, resolve, & build resilience. With some good repetitions of certain linked movements, we also mentally get into the 'flow'. That said, this is not a 'flow' practice today Yogis.
Monday Evening Gentle Yoga 11th September 2023
Slow down & rest this September. On our mats together in this practice & this coming weekend, on our Be Here Now Weekend Yoga Retreat. Taking time out to focus on our breath, on our bodies, on our tension 'spots' & intentions & what we need to do to look after ourselves as best we can. Props: Bolster/cushion & a blanket (optional).
Saturday Mellow Yoga Flow 9th September 2023
This 65 minute practice is deliberately *extra* mellow today Yogis - let's take the foot off the pedal a little, & take a lil heat out of the Yoga 'kitchen'! Slowing down a little more, doing a little less, finding some balance. Props: Yoga blocks might be helpful here & a blanket but just use what you have.
Tuesday Morning Hatha Yoga 5th September 2023
A 25-Minute practice for our hips & glutes Yogis. Props: Yoga mat; Yoga blocks; a Yoga strap & blanket (optional). Warming & waking up, getting the blood flowing to the tissues before doing any asana/stretching. Featuring Malasana (Garland Squat) variations; Ardha Matsyendrasana (Lord of the Fish pose, a seated Twist) with back extension variation; Paschimottonasana (Seated Forward Fold) with the strap - for help, not over-doing it. Lunges x 3 variations (Crescent, Runners & Low) with corresponding 'height' Pigeon variations - use two Yoga blocks if you like. Finishing seated to allow our hips & lower back settle & maybe even enjoy some more ease.
