ABOUT LIAGH

An experienced Yoga Teacher, situated in the Dublin area, classes I teach combine movement, breath, meditation & relaxation, to help each person with their own Yoga.

A senior-qualified E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher (Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa & Accessible Yoga), I have studied & practiced with many renowned teachers over the years; from Donna Farhi to Jivana Heyman, John Scott to Amy Ippoliti, Sarah Ramsden to Nischala Joy Devi,  Shandor Remete, Lalit Kumar, James Higgins & many many more.

I have taught & continue to teach Corporate/Workplace Yoga, Yoga for Runners/Athletes, Yoga Through Cancer Treatment, Gentle Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Accessible Yoga in the Community (Community Gyms, Halls & Schools), Outdoor Yoga, Online Yoga & Private Yoga.

I have taught several fund-raising classes & workshops over the years, for worthy charities such as Dublin Simon Community, the Irish Cancer Society, Barretstown, the Irish Red Cross, ARC Cancer Support, Women's Aid & more & I continue to do so.

Classes focus on the importance of letting go of tension; of harnessing the power of our breath; of engaging in mindful movement. We cultivate self-awareness. We build strength & enhance our mobility. We relax & unwind. We enhance connection to self & to community. We have FUN.

Yoga brings great cross-training benefits too. I’ve run 3 marathons (having trained for 7, long story!) & I also love cycling & hiking. Walking the full 888km Camino de Santiago in 2014, a lil Yoga each day along 'The Way' greatly eased the aches & pains of that hiking odyssey.

Yoga helps us recover, whether from a hard session at the gym or a long hilly ride on the bike, from a long day at the desk or from a long week child-minding.

It helps strengthen our core & other key muscles that we need to move comfortably & efficiently. Yoga also helps improve our balance & our breathing.

I have trained in & taught adaptive Yoga at two cancer support centres for several years now. Having gone through cancer treatment myself, I know all too well the great help it can be.

I am also a qualified Accessible Yoga Teacher & love being able to share Yoga's many benefits - Yoga is for ALL of us, not just the fit, young, well & wealthy. I have taught Community Yoga through both Dublin City Council Sports & Wellbeing Partnership & local Community Groups too - bringing Yoga to schools, to older adults, to communities & to people in relaxed & informal local settings.

By developing a regular suitable practice, we are better equipped, on & off the mat, to go about our daily lives, feeling more centred & calm.

I believe that Yoga is an ‘everyday’ kind of practice - something attainable to us all, whether that is inside on a mat, in a chair, at a desk, online or offline or outside in the fresh air. Try EveryDay Yoga 🙏🏽.
